A bird of paradise kimono in tropical and yellow cotton fabric. Hand printed in colourful birds and natural fauna. It is complemented by roomy sleeves, striped cuffs and collar running through front seams, and the top edge of each side hip pocket finished with a tie waist.

The hand-crafted nature of this kimono makes it truly unique piece. Slight variations produce exclusive characteristics, reflecting Artisan creativity using traditional techniques. Hand screen printing is a highly skilled practice of producing vibrant designs using a frame, stencils, and pigmented colour.

A highly work-intensive Indian heritage craft, whereby patterns must be allowed to dry completely before attempting the next, building a distinctive, bright fabric.

Produced by a small family business specialising in textiles. The business is run by a husband and wife team who also subcontract to disadvantaged groups within their community. We have been working with them for over 10 years. They also support local charitable organisations and community based projects.
